ClickTracks requires the following six fields be present in the log file within the first twelve fields/positions of the log:
- Date and Time [15/Jan/2008:03:04:47 +0200]
- Client IP Address 70.59.117.121
- HTTP Method GET
- Requested file and Query string "GET / HTTP/1.1"
- User Agent "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; FunWebProducts; .NET CLR 1.0.3705; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; Media Center PC 4.0; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; Qwest 1.0; Qwest 1.0)"
- Referrer "http://www.google.com/search?q=jobs&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=ie7&rlz=1I7SUNA"
- Status code 200
Preferable, but not required fields:
- Cookie __utma=132465 utmb per visit/s
- Virtual server name (required only for multi-domain logs)
PLEASE NOTE: The Referrer and User Agent fields are essential for ClickTracks to generate reliable reports.
